In December, the Jeffco commissioners approved the rezoning to allow the construction of 67 three-story townhomes right next to mostly one-story houses. (click here for details) The vote was 2-1. A month earlier, the Jeffco Planning Commission had reviewed the proposal. It voted 6-1 to recommend the rezoning be denied after strongly criticizing the proposal. If the County's approval stands, it will set a precedent in our neighborhood and throughout unincorporated Jeffco allowing high-density, multi-family housing in single-family, residential neighborhoods. This is what is happening in Denver. Our commissioners have shown they want to bring this same inappropriate, urban development to suburban and rural Jeffco. We have filed an appeal of the commissioners' decision in District Court. It's an expensive undertaking and we need your help to protect our neighborhood. Thank You!
